How Kombi Keg Operates

Our Kombi is a unique and versatile mobile bar. We arrive fully stocked with your choice of drinks, to either pour for you with our fantastic staff or leave it to you to serve yourself. We remain onsite to make sure everything runs smoothly and that your event is one everyone remembers.

We provide you with a classic restored VW Kombi that includes a 55inch screen TV that pops out of the roof so you can watch your favourite sporting event with your mates, display photos to make that birthday party extra special or even display logos for corporate events and brand activations.

Kombi Keg has 6 taps on the side for pouring some of your favourite beverages from; beers, ciders, homebrew, cocktails, spirits, soft drink & non-alcoholic options. In fact, anything that can go in a keg! There are three large tubs located in the back filled to the brim with ice to put wine, champagne, cans or any other bottled drinks. We can even use the boot for a spirit station or even a glass station. It’s customisable to suit your individual needs!

Each event has its own unique style, that’s why we’ve got two different bench options for you to choose from! The classic surfboard or the rustic timber bench.

Bench Options

Not all Kombi Keg events are the same. That’s why we’ve got two bench top choices for you to pick from. The surfboard is the original Kombi Keg bench and is perfect for a summer-themed bash! Hosting a more elegant affair? The rustic timber bench provides the perfect minimal and sophisticated look. Either way, the choice is yours!

Rooftop TV

The Kombi is equipped with a pop-up flat screen TV, making it perfect to display special memories at a wedding reception, bucks or hens night! Power hook or generator is required to operate the TV.

The Special Event Day

On event day, you don’t need to worry about a thing! We’ll ensure on-time delivery of the Kombi Keg to the venue, hook up including setting the pressures of the kegs and testing the flow. Once setup is complete, we then leave you to it and return to pick up the Kombi after the event. Prefer some extra help, our staff are trained to help serve and make your event a memorable experience for all!

It’s that easy. We arrive fully stocked and chilled, with professionally trained staff and make sure your event is hassle free. Simply work through our options to receive your quote. To provide a safe responsible environment for you and your guests to relax and enjoy, we can offer a Duty Manager on site for your event.

Drinks Pack

Know how many guests are coming but not how much they’ll drink? This option gives you the coolest van, along with the flexibility when you need it. Starting with 100 drinks and 4 hours hire, this keeps the party going while making sure you don’t have any half kegs left over. Pick from our 15 favorite brands what you’d like on tap, and then purchase your number of drinks. The van hire is included so you just need to set your budget and relax. We take care of it all

Keg pack – Build your own bar

As it suggests, choose your kegs from our list of over 200 kegs and then hire the van to pour them. We have loads available on tap and what we don’t have we’ll do our best to source. If you know exactly what you want, we can build you a fixed price package with all your favorite drinks. Includes everything you need to make sure your event runs smoothly and everyone has a great time. Minimum hire 4hrs.

Cash Bar

With enough notice, we can work with your local council to apply for a Special Event Licence to allow you to have a Cash Bar at your event. It’s a Flexi Drink Bar but instead of you paying, your guests can help ease the cost

How much does it cost to hire Kombi Keg NZ?

Many variable costs go into hiring a mobile bar from Kombi Keg NZ. Where can Kombi Keg NZ attend?

Our VW Kombi Keg can access most large properties and venues throughout our service area. The Kombi Keg mobile bar needs to be on private property, as it cannot be used on council property without a permit. Most hire venues are private property, however, every venue has different rules, so check with the venue for their rules and regulations around the serving of alcohol and the use of Kombi Keg NZ. It is the responsibility of the person hiring Kombi Keg to check this before booking as all deposits are non-refundable.

Can you dispense drinks other than beer?

Yes! Anything that comes in keg form can be served through the freezing cold taps of the Kombi Keg. Including ciders, wine, water, soft drinks etc. You can even run your homebrew.

Can we organise keg hire from Kombi Keg NZ directly?

Yes! Consider us your one-stop shop for your event bar needs. Although we love using our local suppliers, we can get our hands on more commercial brands if so desired. We create drink packages to suit all tastes and budgets.

Does Kombi Keg NZ also serve the drinks?

We can supply staff with an RSA and would be happy to stay and serve your guests as an optional extra. If your mobile bar hire is for private property, there is a great chance that it can be self-serve. However, you would need to check this out for your area and your event venue.

How many kegs will I need for my event?

This is only a general rule of thumb. You know your guests better than anyone else, take into consideration the fact that you might have big drinkers or that maybe only a few enjoy a tipple.

  • 50 people (3-5 drinks per person): 1 x 50L keg, 1 x 30L keg
  • 100 people (3-5 drinks per person): 3 x 50L kegs
  • 150 people (3-5 drinks per person): 4 x 50L kegs, 1 x 30L keg
  • 200 people (3-5 drinks per person): 6 x 50L kegs
  • 250 people (3-5 drinks per person): 7 x 50L kegs
