Our Story
The history behind Kombi Keg and it’s beginnings.
On the 7th of August 2015, the dream of creating a mobile bar out of a Kombi Van took shape with the purchase of a 1976 VW Kombi van from Surf St Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. This marked the humble beginnings of Kombi Keg.
In every spare moment, the first Kombi Keg was meticulously stripped and restored. Late nights in the shed, fueled by camaraderie and countless pizzas, turned this vision into reality.
On the 21st of November 2015, Kombi Keg made its debut at a friend's birthday party, launching a new era in mobile bars.
A picture of the finished Kombi Keg was posted on Facebook, and it quickly went viral. The post has been shared over 35,000 times, and within less than 12 months, the Kombi Keg Facebook page gained over 65,000 likes. One of our videos even garnered over 3.2 million views!
Encouraged by this incredible response, we expanded by purchasing and restoring Kombi Vans from all over Australia for future franchisees. Today, Kombi Keg boasts over 70 franchises worldwide.

Under Zac's leadership, Kombi Keg has continued to expand its footprint to over 70 franchises worldwide, transforming the mobile bar industry with its unique and charming concept. A firm believer in the power of teamwork, Zac fosters a collaborative and supportive environment within the Kombi Keg family. His hands-on approach and dedication to customer satisfaction have solidified Kombi Keg’s reputation as a leader in the industry.
Outside of work, Zac enjoys restoring vintage vehicles, a hobby that perfectly complements his role at Kombi Keg. He also loves spending time with his family and exploring new destinations, always seeking inspiration for the next big idea.
